Audio Master Class Interview with Tim Price

Tim PriceWith this post, we continue on to the second installment in the kickoff to my upcoming saxophone instructional program called Bulletproof Saxophone Playing.

This time we’ve got an inspiring master class interview with the incredibly passionate Tim Price – a world class saxophonist and music educator who’s played alongside jazz’s greatest names in the business. He’s also written for Saxophone Journal while blogging for Rico and definitely knows how to impart his unique brand of musical wisdom to players throughout the saxophone world.

In this interview, Tim talks about developing your skills in the realm of tone, articulation, and phrasing. He also shows you how listening to the lineage of history’s great saxophonists can help you do so.

Fine Print

These interviews are a special series for my email newsletter subscribers. If you’re already on either the Best. Saxophone. Website. Ever. mailing list, or the Bulletproof Saxophone Playing mailing list, the link to the interview should be in the latest email,  which should be sitting in your inbox right now.

If you’re not yet on either of these mailing lists, you can sign up using the pretty blue box beneath this article (there’s also a signup box in the sidebar), and you’ll get a link to this interview right away. You’ll also be given access to the other  interviews as well. Plus, signing up means you get a free e-book with even more saxophone tips.

Bop and roll, people!

About the Author

I've been playing the sax since the late 80's, but my musical journey has run quite the gamut. The musical rap sheet includes tours with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and reggae master Half Pint, center stage at the L.A. Music Center, cozy cafes, raucous night clubs, gear-drenched studios, and the pinnacle of any musician's career - playing weddings in New Jersey! (duh). There's a lot of other stuff too, but you should be reading these blog posts and leaving comments instead. Now off you go!
