Katisse Buckingham is a Los Angeles based saxophone and flute player who has performed and recorded all over the world with many great artists across many genres including Yellowjackets, Prince, Billy Childs, Dr. Dre (including The Chronic), Herbie Hancock, Roy Ayers, Andy Summers, Zawinul Legacy Band, Airto & Flora Purim, Travis Scott, Brian Auger, Simon Phillips Protocol, Snoop Dog, Rakim, Ebi, Poncho Sanchez, Michael Buble, and Lionel Richie, among many others. He has played on numerous films including (improvising) the "Jazz Flute" scene for the Will Ferrell film Anchorman- The Legend of Ron Burgundy (featured in the Hal Leonard book- 25 Great Flute Solos), the Golden Globe winning score to the Robert Redford film All Is Lost and is a featured soloist on the Universal Pictures animated film Minions, Minions 2, Chicken Run 2, Warner Bros Smallfoot, La La Land (with John Legend), Between Two Ferns- The Movie, and Crazy Rich Asians. Television shows include Our Planet 2 (featured soloist), The Simpsons, Perpetual Grace, Love (Judd Apatow), Queer as Folk, Kenan, The Big Leap, Shadow and Bone, Netflix’s Animal, The Kaminsky Method, The Spoils of Babylon (Will Ferrell), Luke Cage, Chi, Lovecraft Country, Penny Dreadful, Will Trent, among others. Katisse also composed and performed the 'flute only' score to the film Let's Scare Julie He has also released three solo records of original music which are a blend of Jazz, Hip-hop, and world music- Lyrical Worker, A World To The Wise, and The Element in the Room.
