Pernille Bévort is a Danish saxophonist and composer who has been an in-demand fixture on the Scandinavian jazz scene for more than 2 decades. She is a graduate of the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen and a winner of the 2001 Ben Webster Prize who has released 14 albums - the latest being the live trio album “Live 2020-2021” which has been very well received by reviewers internationally. At present Pernille Bévort is band leader in her trio Bévort 3 and the septet Radio Bévort. Oct. 2020 Pernille was nominated for a Danish Music Awards Jazz as composer 2020 (‘BLIK’-Radio Bévort). April 11th 2021, she received an honorary award from the Danish Conductor Association and Oct. 2021 Pernille was nominated for a Danish Music Award Jazz in the category Album of the Year ('On Fire'-Bévort 3). Alongside her two current small group projects (Radio Bévort and Bévort 3) she has worked with large ensembles such as the Danish Radio Big Band, Swedish Monday Night Big Band and the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra and performed with international artists including Randy Brecker, Tony Coe, Putte Wickman, Tim Hagans, John Scofield, Maria Schneider, Charlie Watts and Richard Bona.
