I’ve got a very exciting announcement I want to share with you guys. It’s a bit of self-promotion, but I’m also going to be giving away some cool free stuff for you guys, so this is a good thing. :)

Here's a new alternative to the uninspiring tunes often found in the average beginning sax book. This collection of 25 tunes, each with backing and demonstration tracks plus a video tutorial, is the product one of my most significant discoveries in over two decades of working with beginning saxophonists. That is, beginners learn fundamentals much faster by playing the kind of music that attracted them to the horn in the first place.

My followup is called Jazz Lessons with Giants and it features audio master classes with Bob Mintzer, David Liebman, and Bob Sheppard. Like Bulletproof Saxophone Playing, the interviews are summarized and put into an organized step-by-step “how-to” format in an included 80-page e-book, and exercises taken from the program are included in a 50-page exercise book. Plus there are audio demonstrations by the masters as well as my own demonstrations of various chord progressions on the piano. And there’s really a whole lot more, plus a special bonus which I’ll be announcing later.

The Goods

We’ll be covering topics like never running out of things to play, getting that modern “post-Coltrane” sound, expanding your sense of harmony, supercharging your ears, using rhythm, phrasing, and articulation to come up with your own style, and heaps and heaps more.  I’ve been working on this for the past year, so there’s a ton of  love, elbow grease, and late nights that went into this, so I hope that it resonates with those of you who give it a shot.
