Welcome to the Best Saxophone Website Ever!
Hello everyone and welcome!
My name is Doron Orenstein and I started this site because although I have a lot of interests and am actually currently making my living as a freelance web developer, it seems as though music is the one passion of mine that just keeps creeping back into the forefront.
I’m not going to go into a whole “about me” bit, since you can check that out here if you’re interested.
Also, from here on out, I’m going to be referring to myself as “we.” That’s not because I’m trying to pretend like this site is part of some big fancy corporation, but because I’d like to make this site a collaboration between myself and other sax players and music enthusiasts around the globe. Sounds ambitious, I know, but you know what they say…um…something about shooting low and then you achieve low, or something like that, but whatever it is, it’s the truth. Plus, collaborating with you guys is a ton more fun than just sitting here typing to myself, no?
OK, so that little bit of housekeeping is out of the way.
At the time of publishing this post, the site is a mere skeleton of what we have envisioned for it, and hopefully, by the time you’re reading this, WE will have some stuff up here that actually educates, entertains, or at the very least, distracts you.
Lastly and more importantly…I hereby solemnly do swear never to use the word “saxy” at any point during the life of this web site, so help me Cannonball.
So until we chat again, sending the love from Los Angeles Californee…

I’d like to sell my YAS 52. I guess it’s about 35 years old. I didn’t see it listed in your site. Would you have any idea how much it’s worth today and where I might sell it. It’s in very good condition. Thank you.

I would check on eBay, or ask here, they’ll definitely be able to steer you in some good directions: http://forum.saxontheweb.net/forum.php

Hello from Maryland, Doron,
A friend gifted me a saxophone today and I have never heard of the maker. What information do you have on “Centurion” saxophones and how does one tell whether they stack up to modern pro horns? It has a high F-sharp key, a heavy and solid stack, as well as a “pro-feel” to the spring action.
Thank you,
